Have you every wondered what happened to the “Old West”?  When I moved out here to Evergreen from Saint Petersburg, Florida, I was expecting to find gun slingers, cowboys and saloons!  Well, not quite what I found…BUT, much like everything else, our area has become modernized.   So, as a realtor in the foothills of Denver, I am always on the lookout for homes that have that “Old West” feeling.  I stumbled upon one just the other day and want to share it with you.  If you are at all familiar with Evergreen, Morrison and the Conifer area, you may know this area or you may not.  Many times when holding an open house, I hear from clients all the time ” I have lived here all of my life and did not know this was here”.  Happened just last weekend in West Ranch when a gentleman and his daughters came into the house and were just amazed that living in the nearby area of Ken Caryl, he did not know this gated neighborhood existed.  So, just in case you don’t know about the area of Peaceful Hills, I will tell you about the home for sale in here which has “cowboy” written all over it.  It is nestled in the North Turkey Creek Road area just a couple of miles before you reach Highway 285, so is thus nicely situated for Denver commuters or simply just getting to the grocery store.  As you drive up to the house which has a long open driveway with the entrance in emblazed with “Camp David” overhead in lovely arched weathered wood, you know you have reached a special place.  The log home sits on enough acreage to feel like you are quite alone living here and of course, horses are welcome.  There is a barn on the property which sits on very flat land and is nestled next to acres of woodland.  Decks surround the home on both levels which gives you the fabulous outdoor living space which seems to stretch right into the woods.  What a fantastic property for someone who loves that old western lifestyle!
